This online discussion on economic security was the latest in a series of Club of Three webinars launched in 2020 and dedicated to the topic of technological and industrial resilience in Europe.
Europe was now in a state of quasi or de factor hybrid warfare with countless grey-zone, sub-threshold attacks on a daily basis on infrastructure and companies: Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, cyber-attacks on European airports, shadow fleet and drones over Denmark. In order to successfully deal with this unprecedented situation, close cooperation between public and private actors was more important than ever, and a core part of European resilience.
The discussion was chaired by Laura Sandys CBE, Non-Executive Director at SSE Transmission, Highview Power, & Ohme Global, and Chair of Electrify Industry. Participants discussed approaches to economic security in France, Germany and the UK, highlighted the role of the private sector in protecting critical infrastructure and importance of public-private partnerships in strengthening Europe’s security.
The main speakers were:

*Emily Woodburn, Deputy Director for Economic Security, UK Department for Business and Trade
